Born and raised in California by a gifted self-taught musician father and a mom striving to break the glass ceiling during a time when the glass was six feet thick; my house was full of music and a never-give-up attitude. I sang my way through high school and by senior year I was in six choirs and a quartet. I moved out of my house at the age of eighteen and from then on supported myself by working various retail and sales jobs. I moved to Virginia in 1997 and put myself through college at Radford University obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design in 2005, all while working.

Since then, I've spent 20 years working in commercial & residential interior design and architecture. I've worked on multi-million dollar projects such as; schools, universities, restaurants, hotels, churches, corporate offices, industrial, and senior living, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and rehab facilities (new construction and renovation). Project sizes range anywhere from 500 square feet to over 500,000 square feet.

I've managed multiple projects simultaneously from initial client meetings through construction administration and installation. Twenty years in this industry have proven I can handle working under pressure and executing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Raising a child while being married to a man in law enforcement has proven I'm strong enough to handle anything. I've taught myself every piece of computer software I've ever used; from AutoCAD, REVIT, to Adobe, to SketchUp and Microsoft Office, and taken continuing education classes to stay up to date. Giving up is not in my vocabulary. I have completed and passed my NCIDQ and obtained my CID with the State of Virginia.

In the summer of 2019 I wanted to start my own business. I needed some financial support until I had a client base so I decided to take a job selling Coral Fabrics. I loved and it was just getting ready to blossom, when in the spring of 2022 I was told about a job opening at Washington and Lee University, with my husbands upcoming retirement, we needed health/dental insurance so I applied for the position.

At Washington and Lee in Lexington, all of my previous facility experience has come full circle. Working at a higher education facility is it's own miniature city with very similar challenges. We have buildings that date to before the Civil War and are about to open a brand new health center and business school building the summer of 2025.

A pastor once said, "Meekness is not weakness. It is strength under control." That is my ambition; strength using wisdom creates control. So, that's me in a nutshell. Strong, confident, ambitious, always learning, and always seeking to improve. A mother, wife, artist, writer, interior designer, genealogist, and so much more. I hope you'll contact me for an interview. Thank you!
