WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY

  • Washington and Lee University is a historic private liberal arts school located in Lexington, Virginia. 

  • Provide interior design management including space planning, ergonomics evaluations, furniture specifications, and procurement, and finish selections and specifications.

  • Manage all department moves, and insure FF&E is delivered and installed in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate and manage ongoing maintenance and upkeep of existing finishes and furnishings across campus with Facilities staff of over 2 million square feet of space.

  • Manage all interior and exterior signage and wayfinding for campus.

  • Evaluate construction documents, specifications, furniture plans, overall design concepts, at all stages for project submissions made by an outside design/architecture firms.

  • Procure all FF&E and coordinate installations and deliveries.

  • Maintain established vendor relationships and coordinate all quotes and budgets.

  • Meet with sales reps regularly to update design library and maintain knowledge of the latest furnishing and finish options.

  • ​Obtain quotes for furnishings and finishes as needed for projects.

  • Successfully completed over 235 project assignments.

  • Create and manage WLU Interior Design website.

  • Create and distribute a yearly information newsletter to staff and faculty on how the department works.

  • Create and present designs for department projects.

  • Ensure that all WLU products and finishes on campus meet BIFMA, ADA, fire, building, and life safety codes.

  • Assisted Owner/Principal with all aspects of running a firm; from marketing, specifications, client meetings, and installations.
